Lacquer made from chinese lacquer tree was used until Taisho period (in the early 20th century), but nowadays cashew paint is applied because it is easy to handle and causes no rash. The making process of this lacquer paper is mostly hand-made by the craftsmen. This paper is durable and has a unique beautiful texture from Japanese tradition which makes more tasteful and warmhearted.
